Sight gauge (2) is located on the left side of the auger
gearbox.
1. Park the machine on level ground. Run the engine
at low idle.
2. Move the transmission control to the NEUTRAL
position. Engage the parking brake.
3. Lower the bowl to the ground.
4. Stop t
he engine.
5. Check the oil level in sight gauge (2).
6. If oil is needed, clean the area around oil filler
plug (1). Remove the o il filler plug. Add oil to the
corr
ect level.

7. Clean the oil filler plug. Install the oil filler plug.

NOTICE
Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained
during performance of inspection, maintenance, test-
ing, adju
sting and repair of the product. Be prepared to
collect the fluid with suitable containers before open-
ing any compartment or disassembling any compo-
nent con
taining fluids.
Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, “Caterpillar
Dealer S
ervice Tool Catalog” for tools and supplies
suitable to collect and contain fluids on Caterpillar
products.
Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and
mandates.
Note:
Three filters are associated with the auger
hydraulic system. You should replace all three filters
at the same time.
